Bringing the Econ Growth Blog to Substack
This Substack is going to take Robert Solow seriously. Very seriously.
Hello to everyone. I’m bringing over my Economic Growth Blog from my personal Github site over to Substack. Please hit the subscribe button to get these very sporadic posts delivered right to your e-mail inbox, just like your technophobic but still slightly with-it aunt.
The Substack is going to be entirely free to subscribe, as I just don’t think I can commit the kind of time to offer regular enough posts to paying customers. Maybe a few years from now, after I’m done being a department chair, I’ll look into that. For now you can enjoy these very sporadic posts for nothing.
I’m moving over because there appears to be a dense Econ subculture over here now, and the arrival of Notes gives some of the back-and-forth that had been available in the “golden days” of Econtwitter. I’ll keep adding reminders to these posts on Twitter to move traffic over, but I’m hoping this can be the main home for my posts and comments.
The original site will stay up, and given limitations on Substack regarding equations (clunky) and embeds (for cool graphs) I’ll likely post supplemental material there for some posts.
Three posts on the slowdown in economic growth in Europe are queued up and will appear over the next 24 hours. These are just (almost perfect) copies of some recent posts on the original blog to help seed the site. Enjoy!
I think the RSS URL in the post on the old blog is wrong. https://dietrichvollrath.substack.com/feed works for me, but it's currently https://growthecon.com/feed/2023/06/14/dietrichvollrath@substack.com
